Know what you want in the scene
Do not begin with gestures. First understand who you are speaking to, what has just happened and what you need from the other person.
Break the text into thought changes so the monologue develops rather than sounding like one continuous speech.
Memorize ideas as well as words
Once the text is accurate, rehearse with different intentions and pacing. This prevents the performance from becoming mechanically tied to one rhythm.
On camera, keep choices specific and allow yourself to listen internally between lines.
